IS Gives Back: Moves for Meals

Over the course of this crisis, Intelligent Shift employees have been looking for opportunities to give back to their communities. From our weekly #TakeOutThursday initiative to support small businesses to food drives to support local families. It’s been wonderful to see the team come together. Our back-office team wanted to do something to thank those working on the front lines of the pandemic as well as bring employees together with an activity. They created Moves for Meals – a fundraiser for meal donations and 24-hours of continuous movement by running/walking/biking broken into 30-60-minute individual increments. The initial goal was to raise enough money to donate 200 meals across our area and to fill the time slots for the 24-hours of continuous movement. Our employees really rallied around this effort. It was impressive how quickly we surpassed our fundraising goal and how fast we filled the time slots – even those in the middle of the night! The movement portion kicked off on Saturday, May 16th at 12pm and finished on Sunday, May 17th at 11:59am. Employees passed the virtual baton off to one another, via text and email, as they completed their portion and cheered for each other virtually. We are so excited to announce that our team raised enough to donate 750 meals through Great American Restaurants’ Community Kitchen to the following organizations: 110 meals to Reston Hospital 300 meals to INOVA Fairfax 300 meals to Virginia Hospital Center 40 meals to Ashburn Police Station
